India is leading in Mango business and production across the world. Now in mango export business a surprising name suddenly came up – Mukesh Ambani. Globally renowned business personality running India’s largest company – Reliance, only few people know that Ambani also owns a massive 600 acre mango orchard in Jamnagar, Gujarat. this carefully developed farm brings Reliance Industries or Mukesh Ambani as the world’s biggest exporter of mangoes.
This 600 acre mango orchard or mango farm, named on the Dhirubhai Ambani Lakhibagh Amrai, started in 1997 near Reliance Oil Refinery, when it was facing tough environmental rules in Jamnagar. Company has decided to go for environment balance by choosing a greener route by turning dry, unused land into a flourishing mango plantation. Company’s effort to meet regulations soon became a flourishing agricultural success in Jamnagar.
Today, this orchard grows more than 200 different type of mangoes from indigenous and foreign breeds. This 600-acre mango farm is a home of over 1.5 lakh mango trees, these trees include famous and popular Indian varieties like Alphonso, Kesar, and Ratna, along with global favorites like Tommy Atkins and Kent, which were brought to this farm from places like Florida and Israel.
This mango farm using the ecofriendly technology and machines which makes make this farm special. The orchard runs using modern drip irrigation, desalination of regular water, and harvested rainwater. and most scientifically planned used of fertilization. Now this farm produces nearly 600 tons of mangoes every year, majority of this produce being shipped to the global markets. After this news Reliance has emerged as Asia’s big mango exporter.
