Australia now second largest importer of low-emission rice from Vietnam afer Japan. As per new deal nearly 3,000 tonnes of certified low-emission rice are expected to shipped to Australia in coming October 2025.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is now ready for the successful export of low-emission rice to other countries, this is the result of a shift in agriculture research, production practices toward sustainable development, more effective and efficient land use, and added value for Vietnamese rice.
After nearly two years of hard work, research, production policy and its implementation, Vietnam’s low-emission rice is ready for the world now, it’s already has now reached to the consumers in Japan, and now Australia is in que, soon consignment will be shipped to them. Export of Low emission (Low Carbon) rice to these countries is very significant and this leads a major step forward and opens up long-term future and prospects of Vietnamese rice in the global market.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development updated that 7 Vietnamese companies have been certified till date to use the “Green Low-Emission Vietnamese Rice” label under the Vietnamese national program. That covers area of one million hectares for this high-quality, low-emission rice. These certified companies are expected to deliver more than19,000 tonnes by 2025.
